Bold & Bookish - Brand Identity
I had the pleasure of creating the brand identity for Bold & Bookish, a creative community built to inspire writers through newsletters, resources, and events. The goal was to craft a professional and modern identity that stands out in the saturated book market, while reflecting the brand’s tropical, Latin American influences.
My process began with a conversation to clarify the brand’s goals and vision. I researched the industry to understand common patterns and made sure to avoid the clichés the client wanted to steer clear of. From there, I explored ideas through hand-drawn sketches and refined them further on grid paper to ensure balance and proportion. Once three strong logo directions were selected, I moved into Illustrator to polish the designs with precision. After further refinement, one final mark was approved as the foundation of the Bold & Bookish identity.
The final solution pairs Golden Yellow (optimism + imagination), Leaf Green (growth + renewal), and Rose Gold (passion + courage) with Avenir’s clean, modern typography. Together, the system gives Bold & Bookish a vibrant, confident identity designed to stand out in a crowded market and grow with its community of storytellers.
Beyond the logo
Beyond the logo, I developed a full set of brand guidelines to maintain consistency across all platforms. This included rules for logo placement, safe zones, and typography hierarchy, as well as color palettes and patterns designed to keep the brand instantly recognizable. The system ensures every touchpoint, from newsletters to social posts to future event materials, speaks in one unified voice.
